Troy News [Aug 5, 2006]

There are several business news tidbits I feel I should pass along:

Sam Goody in Troy closed a week or so ago. Have no fear though, there is a business that can fill your indie music needs. No, I'm not talking Wal-Mart. The Backstage Pass is the store I'm talking about. They have a wide selection of music, lots of pre-enjoyed dvds and games as well as incense and all that jazz. They can be found on Main Street in downtown Troy. The building is also home to Rock Star Hair Studio. The Backstage Pass is also the only place in Troy to find the Riverfront Times, St. Louis' alternative newspaper.

Denny's in Troy is closed indefinitly due to "electrical problems" as noted on a sign posted on the front door.

Richie's Coney Island opened up in a little red caboose by the skate shop next to the city park on Lincoln. I advise trying the cheesy coney dog for $2. It's an all-beef dog topped with a special meat sauce, cheese, and onions. It's delish.

M's Tea House is opening by the Little Dipper off Main on Aug. 28. My guess it will be a unique dining experience. Also they will serve a full line of alcohol, including beer and wine.
