Gun At William R. Cappel [Feb 8, 2007]

This has not been a very good couple of months for William R. Cappel Elementary. First a student is hit by a falling beam and now a second grader brings a gun to school. The kid brought a loaded .22 to school on Wednesday. The parents were charged Thursday. They apparently had over 80 unsecured weapons at their home. The second grader didn't attempt to use the gun, he just showed it to another student. A third student overheard and reported it to the teacher.

Questions to ponder:

Who has 80 weapons?

Does this kid need a whoopin' or what?

Shouldn't someone take the parents behind the woodshed and give them a whoopin' too?

Here's a story on it

That's just crazy, and scarey! The parents definitely need a whoopin, and I hope the court system gives em a good one. I am all for the right to bear arms, but it has to be done sensibley, and people have to take responsibility for their actions.

I blame the kid too, but not completely. He may not even know what he had, or even what to do with it. It's good to know that another student over heard and realized what was going on. That kid may have saved who knows how many lives...
